Leg-spinner E. Gowtham (six for eight) bowled a deadly spell as Tirupur Cricket Academy registered a convincing seven-wicket win over Maruthi CC in the TNCA-DCAT first division league at Palladam recently. After bowling out Maruthi CC cheaply for 58, Tirupur CA reached the target in 15.2 overs.
In another match, medium-pacer N. Manoj Kumar (six for 21) bowled Stadium Cricket Academy to a seven-wicket win over Tirupur Cricket Club.
The scores: Maruthi CC 58 in 23.1 overs (E. Gowtham six for eight, N. Janarthanan three for eight) lost to Tirupur CA 61 for three in 15.2 overs.
Maruthi CA 125 in 32.2 overs (K. Arun Prasad 35, S. Ramakrishnan 31, S. Ganesan three for 23) bt FNF CC 98 in 35 overs (G. Manikandan five for 11, K. Ashok Kumar three for 15).
Tirupur CC 87 in 26.4 overs (N. Manoj Kumar six for 21) lost to Stadium CA 88 for three in 17.2 overs (J. Balamurugan 35, S. Saravanan 35 n.o.);
Bradman CC (Udumalpet) 151 in 43.5 overs (E. Savin Prakash 79) lost to Tirupur Textiles RC 153 for two in 32.1 overs (S. Sivakumar 34 n.o., G. Saran Peethan 84 n.o.).
