TIRUPUR TEAM LOST THE MATCH BUT WON THE HEARTS

Tirupur district teams maiden debut in the Senior District  "S.S. Rajan Trophy "  ends in a losing note but their brave fight  was well appreciated by  audience and  officials.

The newly formed DCAT send their first district team to trichy against seasoned competitors and last year finalist KANCHEEPURAM .The youth and experienced DCAT team was lead by senniappan of ttrc  and they played their first match on 20 th feb at PONMALAI southern railway ground.

The tirupur team won the toss and elected to bat first but they lost the opener
GANESH  chipely and anther opener balakrishnan was retired hurt . Once the opener fails the captain senniappan and experienced batsman saravanan carry the innings little forward but accurate bowling from raja got saravanan (11) and balakrishnan out for 13 .

Captain senniappan fight from one end and others fell regular intervals  still our score  looks steady as 93 for 4 in 32 overs in one stage , as we all looking forward to complete  50 overs and expect a descent  fighting score but our hopes destroyed  immediately as "raja"a former ranji squad players fiery spell (six for 21) could not enable us make a descent score... as we all out for just 103runs (captain senniappan compiled 43 runs  ) .
scoring 104 in 50 overs is very easy task for kancheepuram because it has 8 chennai  first division players and 2 tamilnadu state  under 19 players.

Our fight back  start  with our experienced fast bowler janrthanan bowled brilliantly and bowled some unplayable balls as  kancheepuram batsmans  struggled and out as score read ..2 for 9 in 4 overs  and jana got both wickets . After those early blows other bowlers could not take advantage and kancheepuram going for lunch 35 for 2 wickets in 9 overs .

After lunch varunkumar and omesh steady the innings well and score read 60 for 2 but over ambition shot from omesh got out to jayakumar for 25  and score read 60 for 3 . Late to enter his bowl supramani bowled fantastically and got 2 important wickets  put kancheepuram to 75 for 5 and late wicket  from manoj  at the time score read 90 for 6  in 28 overs .Theen they reach the target at 31.5 overs as jana ends in 2 for 18 and supramani 2 for 17 in 7 overs .

Thus end our depute run in very shortly but fight with kancheepuram (they enter semifinal stage and finish other 2 matches easily) wich contains some big players we stretch them to 32 overs for small score of 103 is really a big achievement. All the audience and officials who gather there  appreciate our performance .

Tirupur 103 in 36.3 overs (N. Senniappan 43, M. Raja six for 21) lost to Kancheepuram 107 for six in 31.5 overs (K. Varun Kumar 46, S. Omesh 25)
